May 23: Writing Summary

I’m feeling a little bit burned out with writing, so I spent today mostly just reading and talking and chilling. But I’ve done quite a bit of writing this vacation and it’s felt good. I think, at a rough count, I’ve written something like 7,000 words. Somehow this doesn’t seem right but I think it’s correct! This is the size of one decently sized story if I’d just written one start to finish, but I worked on a couple of different things.

Specifically:

Grad School AU: Wrote three more scenes, and more importantly worked on it for the first time in a couple of months and broke through a sort of fearful block I had about it. I mean I’m not judging it right now, I’m too close for that, but I feel decent about what I wrote. Also, I haven’t made an outline for it per se, but I did collect a possible-scene list, and it makes me feel like it’s something I can make progress on, and like something that will someday have an end, and that feels good. Total word count added: 2,300.

New fic: Lol. Don’t know exactly what I’m doing here but I wrote for an hour and got down 2,000 words.

YJ fic: I wrote another two scenes and I think I only have one more I want to write to tie everything up and make it a complete story. You know, relatively complete. I’ll have said everything I wanted to say with it and hit all the points I wanted to hit. Which is rather exciting. Total word count across the two scenes: 2,180.

Drawer fic: I’ve continued writing a little bit on this…perhaps not as much as I should, but 700 words overall, and I hope to write a bit more tonight. Also I finished my extremely long scene that I’ve been working on forever!

So, yeah, about 7k across all the projects!

I do want to integrate more writing into my life. Of course I always say that. I just… coming back to my real life after a bit of time away gives me a sort of optimism about… establishing better habits and routines.

Anyway. I need to pack now.
