October 1: Musee d'Orsay, Etc.
Oct. 1st, 2025 08:10 pmLast day in Paris. I’ve had a good trip but I’m honestly tired and ready to go home. I’m not sure how much more adventuring energy I have left in me and though on average I’m pretty proud of myself, I can still see the wear in me, how I’m not my best, and I’m falling into bad habits again.
Anyway. Today was Musee d'Orsay day. I really enjoyed it. I got to see the Bear again, and the Impressionists in their new location, and several other exhibits. We had tea in the cafe on the top floor, outside. And I actually acquired some souvenirs at the gift shop.
Afterward, we did some walking, basically to the Jardin du Luxembourg, where we spent some time at the fountain in the center, and environs. And had dinner back in the neighborhood of the hotel, at a place that happened to be next door to the place where we wanted to go, which was closed. The food was very food. It existed.
Most of the packing is done and the taxi to the airport tomorrow isn’t super early, so the rest can be done in the morning. I feel a bit lazy following that plan, but I think it will be more efficient to pack everything that remains all at once, even if some of that is stuff that goes in the checked bag.
I can’t believe it’s October! I am looking forward to getting on the plane and just… not worrying about anything for a while. I just hope getting to the airport etc goes smoothly. I will deal with anything that happens but I would just like it to be normal, please. Then, some very restful time, and a slow returning to regular life.
I really want to write again. I want to be in my head for a while, and I want to be creative.
