Sooo tired. I did what I had to do today, basically, but at what cost.

Work was pretty quiet, only K and I in the department. The biggest event was the new camera experimentation, wherein 3 of us spent 2.5 hours putting together the whole recording setup from scratch. That was very exhausting. Fun, and exciting, but exhausting. There was some idea that this Saturday’s oral history could be filmed with our equipment, but I’ll be honest and say I always knew that would be a bad idea. But in a not-my-problem way. So I wasn’t surprised that we were not at all ready for that, but it was still valuable work. I’m glad we’ll have the summer to experiment and practice more with it. I think it will ultimately be a lot easier but only after we/I become considerably more fluent and comfortable with the equipment. I was the lighting guinea pig and I will say I kind of liked the mood of the dark room with the big lights. I could totally be famous and do interviews in a big studio lol.

It was also at a really awkward time and so afterward I had a very late lunch and then just went home.

When I got home I was so tired that my limbs physically hurt so I took a nap. And then I got up and did some cleaning, and ate dinner, and cleaned some more. I was sort of hoping I’d have time to do some reading but that’s the time that went into the nap and I don’t regret it. I needed it.

Now I need a shower and a bit of writing time before bed.
