June 23: Monday; Writing

I did some writing after work and I am very proud of myself for that. I took some time to rest right after I got home and even napped for a short time on the couch. I think the couch nap is a great invention, though. I won’t be asleep for too long and I feel refreshed after. And my couch is really comfortable.

Then I took a shower and sat down to writing. I got down about 2k in a little over an hour. I haven’t reread the whole thing yet but it felt good while I was writing so I’m optimistic about it–I mean it’ll need sprucing up and so on, it’s a draft, but I think it’s a workable draft. And I ended up going places with it that I didn’t expect to go and coming up with a whole bunch of additional ideas. So I feel excited about that.

I’m glad I made the effort. I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow after work, maybe some reading, but I hope I do something that feels like accomplishment.

Also bonus points for not only writing after work, but on a Monday, and a Monday that has been so hot. The first really hot day of the year… feels like stepping into an oven. And our power blipped at the library over the weekend so it was hot inside too for about half the day. I didn’t feel as bothered as I usually do by that stuff, though. Just put my fan on and stayed in my enclosure. Maybe it’s the zen of the 4 day weekend lololol.

I also had to deal with computer issues. Something got… jostled or something in my office–not sure how with no one there but whatever–and a couple of my printers got disconnected and so did my computer, so it was done to zero battery when I came in and didn’t turn on. So I had to deal with that, too. Always something I guess.

Anyway, I’m exhausted now. The fatigue started hitting me maybe 20 minutes ago, absolute WALL. I guess that’s good, given what time it is. I still need to brush my teeth and try to do a little bit of Evening Writing. Seems impossible now but… worst case I get a bit of extra sleep.
